Dibakar Banerjee insists that Abhay Deol is not his muse. In fact, Banerjee only cast this Punjabi brat from Bandra because he felt that Deol was perfectly suited for the role of Tamil Brahmin, IAS officer named Krishnan.

He adds, Abhay being very cautious about the roles he plays further makes him a perfect fit for the character.

For the role of "Krishnan", Dibakar wants a guy who is in his 30's or 40's, is gracious with an underlying curiosity and zeal to be perfect.

However, it is the same tough persona that makes him enticing to women.
