Rowdy as he may be, Akshay Kumar's Rathore can breathe easy. On Friday evening Akshay Kumar's eagerly awaited action-
adventure-comedy Rowdy Rathore was cleared by the censorboard with a ‘UA' certificate.
And that means Akshay's young under-18 fans can only watch the film accompanied by a parent.
One of the reasons why the film was not cleared for all ages was the raunchy item song Aa re pritam pyare... Pallu ke neeche
chupa ke rakha hai /Utha doon toh hangama ho.
J. P Singh, the Regional Officer of the Censor Board Of Film Certification, admits the above song was one of the reasons for the
film being granted a ‘UA' certificate.
Says Mr Singh, "Yes, the song was a reason for the ‘UA' certificate. We have given the film ‘UA' with cuts. We've asked them to
remove one head-crushing scene, some abuses in Hindi and a few double-meaning dialogues. "
One thing is for sure. This is completely new territory for producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
