Actress Vidya Balan's lavani number in "Ferrari Ki Sawaari" has got a mixed response. However, a lot of hard work went into it to make it look authentic.

A group of trained lavani dancers were flown down from Kolhapur specially to train Vidya for the song "Maala jau de" in the film.

Culture has it that ethnic lavani dancers have curvy bodies with heavy waists that accentuate their movements.

According to sources, Vidya wanted to lose weight but producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra insisted that she wait until he shoots the song. The actress also took tips from the dancers, which helped her get her movements right.

Directed by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar and featuring Sharman Joshi in the lead, "Ferrari Ki Sawaari" releases June 15.
