Of British and Scottish descent, Tom Alter has mesmerised audiences with his amazing grasp on chaste Hindi and Urdu.
Now, the veteran actor has even learnt the Gujarati accent for his role in an upcoming Gujarati film. "I haven't spoken Gujarati in the
film but I did learn the accent by observing the way people talk," adds the veteran actor about his debut in Gollywood.
The film depicts the journey of a young man and his fixation with fulfilling his dreams of settling in USA. It highlights a very
poignant issue faced by a lot of Gujarati families who aspire to settle abroad in search of a better life.
"I have known the director (Abhishek Jain) for a while and have seen his short film Rehman as well. When he first narrated the
story to me I was impressed with his clear line of thought and technicality.
Also, working with a young crew and that
too for a Gujarati film, the idea simply appealed to me," maintains the sexagenarian actor.
