No film is possible without technicians, says Zoya Akhtar who is sad about these behind-scene people not getting recognition for their work.

"I hope all my technical nominees win. It is ridiculous that the work of technicians is not talked about," Akhtar, who is leading this year's IIFA awards nominations with her film "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", told.

She is here to attend the 13th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend and awards. The award ceremony will take place Saturday.

"If I win the best director, then I am almost representing my crew in that award," she added.

"I don't think any director can work alone, you are as good as your crew and if you don't acknowledge that you can't make better films. You are not going to make a good film without your crew," she added.

After "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", she is now working on a short film to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema and also writing a new script.

"I was doing a short film. It's a fiction short film for 100 years of Indian cinema. Other than that, I have just started writing a script with co-writer Reema Kagti. We have started ideating," she said.

There were reports that Zoya has signed Kapoor cousins Kareena and Ranbir for her film, but she denied it.

"I have not signed anyone," she said.
