Several Bollywood actresses are experimenting with action on the big screen, but Deepika Padukone tried her hand at some real action while she was with some armymen in Jammu.

The 26-year-old went to Jammu to shoot for NDTV India's "Jai Jawan" and tried some thrilling feats with the jawans of an armoured regiment and the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles.

She jumped a six-foot wall, rode a T72 tank, checked her aim with a rifle and played basketball and badminton with the jawans, said a press statement.

Her sporting spirit drew an instant connection with the soldiers.

The episode featuring Deepika will be aired on Independence Day Wednesday.
