Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, who is the son of Bollywood actor Suresh Oberoi, turned a year older on Monday.

Vivek Oberio, who was born in the year 1976, turned 36.

Vivek made his debut in Bollywood with the film 'Company', where he was cast along with Ajay Devgan, Manisha Koirala, and Antara Mali. The film received positive reviews and Vivek's acting skills were praised by the critics.

He won the Filmfare Awards for 'Company' in the category of Best Debut and Best Supporting Actor in 2002.

Vivek then starred in films like 'Road', 'Saathiya', 'Dum', 'Yuva', making him one of the prominent young talents of the industry.

His next few films did not match up to the expectations could not do well in the box office.

Finally in 2006 his role in Vishal Bhardwaj's film 'Omkara' gave him a fresh lease of life as an actor. Again his roles in 'Kurbaan' as Riyaz Maasud and in 'Rakht Charitra' as Prathap Ravi were acclaimed.

The actor was linked with former Miss World Aishwarya Rai for some time and the couple was seen together in a film, 'Kyun! Ho Gaya Na...'.

The actor has been involved in various philanthropic activities. He worked with Project Hope to bring relief to the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami victims.

He serves as the World Health Organization's (WHO) anti-tobacco spokesperson. He is involved with several charities in Chennai and Mumbai.

The actor married Priyanka Alva, daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva in 2010.
