Gulzar to lend his name as presenter for 'Kya Dilli Kya Lahore'

Looks like Gulzar has had a change of mind. The filmmaker and lyricist who was till now supporting Karan Arora's forthcoming film as a mentor has now officially 'adopted' the film and has become its presenter

The last time he did something like this was 13 years ago when he directed Hu Tu Tu. Incidentally, this project also marks the first time a film will have his name in the credit list not as lyricist or writer but as a presenter.

Gulzar had been associated with this post-Independence period film which is also Vijay Raaz's directorial debut mentoring from the script level. Recently, he saw the film and agreed to lend his name to the project on the paper as well.

In fact, the title of the film was also kept after he suggested few names for the film. However, the reason why he agreed to be part of the team is because of the film's humorous take on Indo-Pak relationship.

`I have written a lot about Partition and I am still writing about it. The subject is very close to my heart. I had heard the script and had agreed to help the film in whatever way I can.

Karan recently visited me with the first cut of the film and when I saw it, I thought they have made it the way one would have imagined. It has come out very beautifully and the best part is that it is meaningful yet tries its best not to be preachy in any way,` Gulzar sums up.
