The ongoing promos of Ajay Devgn's upcoming film has apparently not gone down well with the Sikh community in Mumbai

Ajay Devgn's upcoming film seems to have earned the wrath of the Sikh community. While the actor may have agreed to delete certain 'objectionable content' from the film produced by Kumar Mangat, there seems to be more trouble in store for the makers.

Mumbai-based Member of the Legislative Council Charan Singh Sapra, who's also the president of Punjabi Cultural and Heritage Board, has raised objections to the promos of the film. They apparently show Devgn mouthing dialogues like 'Je sardar na hote to joke kis pe banate' and 'Teri behan di, teri maan di, ye duniya ko hamne sikhaya'.

The Board has apparently even sent two letters of objection to the actor, apart from asking an edit on the promos being screened. The Board has also demanded to see the edited version of the film before it goes to the Censor Board.

Sapra points out, `The promos have been going on for the past one-and-a-half months and they have already done the damage. The youngsters of the Sikh community have been posting messages on the net and SMSs have been doing the rounds. We don't want the issue to escalate.`

Kumar Mangat is said to have met Sapra on the issue. `He has agreed to show the film to the Board members,` said Sapra.

He adds that he's even spoken to Ajay, who's shooting in Hyderabad, and the actor has assured him that they would soon sit together to sort the issue out.

`Ajay was quite concerned and said that he did not want to deliberately hurt the Sikh community's sentiments.` Kumar Mangat refused to comment on our story.
