He has given Bollywood some iconic dance steps during his prime, and even in the new millenium, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who turns 70 Thursday, has continued at his grooviest best. Every now and then he has proved he can still make the 'saara zamaana' go 'deewana'.

We list a few of the veteran actor's popular dance numbers:

"Bol Bachchan" (2012): Revisiting his "My name is Anthony Gonsalves" days, the actor came out of a giant egg in this song, which his famed surname in its title. Wearing a chic black sherwani, Amitabh showed all the Bollywood latka-jhatkas he is capable of doing.

"Bbuddah... hoga terra baap" medley (2011): A medley of twisted versions of his old hits "Khaike paan", "Rang barse", "Pag ghungroo", Amitabh was at his flamboyant best in this song. Floral shirts and goggles intact, the Big B moved to his evergreen tunes, albeit with a new twist in every sense.

"Jhoom barabar jhoom" (2007): His Johnny Depp's "Pirates Of The Carribbean" inspired look created all the curiosity this song needed. Dressed as a mysterious gypsy-like musician, Big B danced to the number at London's Waterloo station. He carried the song on his shoulders and made it one of the highlights of the movie of the same name, which was otherwise not quite a rage at the box office.

"Rock'n' roll soniye" (2006): At his flirty best as Sexy Sam in Karan Johar's "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna", the veteran star grooved stylishly to this peppy number. He danced in the midst of foreign beauties and proved how, be it the twist or the 'rock 'n' roll', he could do it all!

"Kajra re" (2005): This number will be special for the Bachchan family for generations to come. Big B grooved and matched steps well with his son Abhishek Bachchan, and now daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai. He didn't fall short of the duo in a single step despite his age.

"Holi khele raghuvira" (2003): This wasn't a surprise, coming from a man who gave India a Holi anthem like "Rang barse". This is the new age Holi anthem. Amitabh lived up the spirit of the festival of colours in the song, with his playful demeanour and desi dance moves with Bollywood's dreamgirl Hema Malini.

"Chali chali phir chali" (2003): That Big B can work in any genre is a known fact. So if there was a "Holi khele raghuvira" in "Baghban", there was also this westernised "Chali chali phir chali". A song, based on the theme of Valentine's Day, the actor put youngsters to shame with his vivaciousness and romantic side in this dance sequence.

"Say shava shava" (2001): English twists or Punjabi moves, Big B delivered one of his most carefree dance performances of the new millenium with this number. He gave Bollywood fans a new iconic step, and stole the limelight from Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji in this one.

"Banda ye bindass hai" (2001): Complete with a red rose in his mouth, Amitabh was true to the title of the song, and showcased viewers his 'bindass' side. His solo sequences were delightful and the parts with Nandita Das were fun and sensual at the same time.
