After the astonishing success of "Page 3", director Madhur Bhandarkar has decided to dig his fingers into the affluent world of business in "Corporate".

"It would certainly have the same gritty, raw-and-real look as 'Page 3'... and lots of real-life elements and characters will find their way into the film," tells Bhandarkar .

"I'm doing a whole lot of research to know how the business world works. It would be a very emotional journey, much like Lataji's song 'Kitne ajeeb rishte hain yahan par' typified in 'Page 3'."

Ever since "Page 3" hit off, Bhandarkar and his "Page 3" writer Manoj Tyagi had been looking into sectors of society they thought could be exposed like the beau-monde in "Page 3".

"And we hit on the corporate world! The characters can be larger-than-life, and yet, straight out of the newspapers."

Earlier, Shyam Benegal too had made a brilliant study of corporate mores in "Kalyug", right? "Yes, I hope 'Corporate' will be at least half as hard-hitting," Bhandarkar enthuses.

Earlier, Bhandarkar had been planning to make a film on adultery called "Extra". "But the script wasn't going anywhere," he says.

He promises not to succumb to the temptation of signing big-name stars, who are now eager to work with him.

"If I do that I'll be back making 'Aan: Men At Work' where I worked with many big stars. But the film didn't work.

"I will have 2-3 stars in 'Corporate' because the script needs them. But all the rest of the cast will be relatively new, from the theatre and so on. 'Corporate' will have two women in the pivotal roles, an older female entrepreneur and a novice."

The film starts in July. And like "Page 3", "Corporate" too promises to have lots of characters and an element of the thrill.

Sahara Percept, which also produced "Page 3" will produce "Corporate".

"Page 3" has turned the tides for Sahara, which till then was only looked on as a moneyed production house with no success in filmmaking.

Now it has struck a deal with Sony Entertainment for the satellite deal of "Page 3" for Rs.22.5 million. "They're very happy with me. They gifted me a car."

And of course, the theme of "Corporate" will be realistically treated, Bhandarkar says.

"After 'Page 3', no more escapist films like 'Aan...' for me. The crux will be the authenticity that made 'Chandni Bar' and 'Page 3' so appealing to audiences," Bhandarkar says.

"'Page 3' has got me unbelievable appreciation. I was in London with my wife Renu, and I couldn't hear the end of it."
