Although actor-director Makarand Deshpande shot a promotional song for his forthcoming directorial venture "Sona Spa", he doesn't believe that it can help a film in becoming successful at the box office.

"I don't believe in promotional songs at all. They are pointless and give wrong message to the audience. I don't think a promotional song or an item song will lead to the success of the film," Makarand told.

"If the audience wants to just see the promotional song, they will watch it in YouTube. Why will they come to theatre just for a song?"

Titled "Hum neend ka business karte hain", the retro style song has been sung by Asha Bhosle and Sudesh Bhonsle for "Sona Spa".

The film has been produced by Miraj Entertainment and Makarand says that the song was the producer's call.

"I don't think it was important, but it was completely producers call and I respect their decision. Many a times films have three to four songs, but this one didnt have too many. I feel only the concept of the film works and nothing more than that," said Makarand who earlier directed "Hanan" and "Danav". He has also acted in films like "Swades".

"I really respect Asha Bhosle and Sudesh Bhonsle who took out their precious time and recorded the song for my film," he added.

Set for March 22 release, "Sona Spa" tackle the issue of sleep disorder and it will see Naseeruddin Shah in the lead.
