Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan says filmmakers should be more driven to make projects based on real life subjects, which affect the society.

Big B shared the thought on his blog post after meeting a girl named Kankana, who is making a documentary on violence against women, and has sought the 70-year-old veteran's video byte for it. He is impressed with the effort.

"It is a brave effort on her part to construct a subject through film, her first, on a subject that is so prevalent in society today, and one that needs to be addressed immediately. Good luck to her. Directors should come up with more films on real subjects," Bachchan posted in his blog.

Big B is also happy with the changes in Indian cinema, which are clearly reflected through the awardees at the 60th National Awards, announced earlier this week. Offbeat films like "Paan Singh Tomar", "Kahaani" and "Vicky Donor" tasted success, and Amitabh believes it is a great time to be in the industry.

"The world of cinema in India is changing so rapidly it is difficult to keep up with them. I am delighted to be in the company of some of them and to share and perhaps participate in their dreams.

"I do realise my standing and that it does not weigh too heavily when in comparison with the young. But I shall endeavour and put in hard work and perhaps attempt to be in the company which deserves mention," he added.
