Actor-producer John Abraham, whose debut production project "Vicky Donor" has won three National Awards, believes his performance in "Shootout At Wadala" is one of his "best". He says it would be "great" if his work is lauded with the prestigious honour too.

He plays real life gangster Manya Surve in the movie.

"This is one of the best performances of my career. I hope to get the appreciation - critically and commercially, and if I get the National Award, then that will be great," the 40-year-old said here Tuesday at the music launch of "Shootout at Wadala".

"Right now we are just thinking about success and performance, so let's hope for the best," he added.

John said the audience will be shocked to see him in this role.

"For me, 'Shootout At Wadala' is a completely different film. Audiences are going to be shocked seeing me in this film, in this role," John said.

"I am very excited and would like to say to the audiences that 'I hope I don't disappoint you all and I hope that you will enjoy the film'," he added.

Directed by Sanjay Gupta, "Shootout At Wadala" also features actors Anil Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Kangna Ranaut and Mahesh Manjrekar. It releases May 1.
