Ayushmann Khurrana, whose upcoming film "Nautanki Saala" features remixed versions of two old Bollywood songs, says there will always be a split audience as far as such numbers are concerned.

Present at the launch of an album "The Bartender B 70" Wednesday, a remix of megastar Amitabh Bachchan's songs, Ayushmann said: "I love 1970s songs and retro music... There will always be two kinds of audiences, one who are against remixes and the other who support remixes."

He said "The Bartender B 70" caters to the latter.

"The twist they have given to the songs is very young and caters to the young audience," added the 28-year-old, who also sings and composes himself.

"Nautanki Saala" features "Dhak dhak" from the film "Beta" and "So gaya yeh jahaan" from "Tezaab". The original songs were hits of their times.

Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, who has produced "Nautanki Saala", says remixing does not take anything away from a song and old will always remain gold.

"We have heard a lot of old songs and they still sound so good even after 50 to 60 years. But what is the problem with these (remix) songs then," the 66-year-old said at the same event.

"That time also they were nice and they are nice even after being presented in this new fashion. You should appreciate it. Old will always remain gold, that will not change. But this is a new avatar, try it then it is upto the audiences. At least give them a chance," added Sippy.
