Actor Vipin Sharma, who played Darsheel Safary's on screen father in "Taare Zameen Par", has turned to direction to tell the story of people who flock the Maximum city to try their luck in movies.

Titled "Akki Te Vikke Te Nikki", his directorial debut stars new faces and is being produced by Sunil Bohra.

"I am directing a film and I have finished the first schedule. The second schedule will go on the floors by the end of this month. The film is based on people who come from different places to Mumbai to be part of Bollywood," Sharma, who had assisted Ketan Mehta, told.

Talking about the release plans, he said: "Sunil is one of the biggest producers in Bollywood. The film will release by the end of this year or by next year. We will have a wide release for the film."

The actor, who also featured in "Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster" and "Inkaar" among others, is proud of the fact that he has been part of some sensible cinema and considers those directors as his mentors.

"I am proud that I have been part of some wonderful and sensible films in Bollywood. I consider Aamir Khan, Sudhir Mishra, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Anurag Kashyap as my mentors," said Sharma.

Talking about his background, he said that he is an alumnus of the National School of Drama and "I have done filmmaking course from Canadian Film Center in Toronto, Canada".

"I have worked very closely with Shyam Benegal and Nesseruddin Shah," he added.
