Young Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan will take the stage for his first-ever international performance at
the spectacular Samsung IIFA Awards to be held at Amsterdam on June 11.
The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards will also have performances by Bollywood actors Salman
Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Shahid Kapur, Kareena Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol, item girl Malaika Arora-Khan,
'Kisna' debutanat Isha Sharwani, pop singer Daler Mehendi, Hariharan, Suneil Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Sushma
Reddy and international pop sensations Bombay Rockers and Rouge.
Bollywood bigwigs, including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Yash Chopra, A R Rahman, Javed Akhtar,
Shabana Azmi, Vivek Oberoi, Kajol, Ajay Devgan and Urmila Matondkar, among other guests from the world
of business, politics and sports, would be present at the event as guests.
Over 10,000 people will witness the show where the performances would be choreographed by Shiamak
Davar. The IIFA Weekend and all the IIFA events have been conceptualised, produced and directed by
Wizcraft International Entertainment, one of the world's leading entertainment agencies.
This year too the IIFA Awards will honour the Superstars of Indian Cinema and pay tributes to the stalwarts
from the Indian silver screen.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 'Parineeta' is the film to be premiered at the IIFA World Premiere in Amsterdam on June
nine.
A sensitive film on the joys, sorrows, fond memories, bittersweet experiences and a relationship of deep
friendship, 'Parineeta' is a contemporary remake of an engaging and timeless tale by noted writer Sarat
Chandra Chattopadhyay.
The lead star cast of the movie includes Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Raima
Sen and Diya Mirza, a special appearance by Rekha and debutante Vidya Balan. This Pradeep Sarkar's film
will receive a red carpet welcome during its premier at the 650-year-old Pathe Tuschinski Theatre during the
IIFA Weekend.
For the first time, IIFA will host the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum and a special IIFA Film Festival at the
magnificent Pathé Tuschinski Theatre. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI),
has come together with the IIFA to promote the globalisation of Indian Cinema.
The Forum will also serve as a platform for shared synergies, ideas and new business opportunities between
India and the Netherlands. The subjects of discussion at the forum will be Cinema and Entertainment, Civil
Aviation, Commerce and Industry and Tourism.
The IIFA festival will showcase some of the best films from the Indian Cinema, including hits like 'Veer Zaara',
'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Kal Ho Na Ho', 'Koi Mil Gaya' and the Oscar nominated films -
'Shwaas' and 'The Little Terrorist'.
The fun-filled sixth IIFA Weekend in Amsterdam will be packed with a host of exhilarating events like the IIFA
World premiere and the IIFA Foundation Celebrity Cricket Match.
