As Indian cinema completes 100 years, actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan has revealed that he was keen on making a film to mark the centenary

To celebrate the landmark of Indian cinema, four top Bollywood directors - Dibakar Banerjee, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap - have directed 'Bombay Talkies', an anthology of four short stories. "I was looking to make a film on 100 years of cinema...I wanted to do something but couldn't do it.

I am happy that the Indian cinema has completed 100 years and happy to be part of this industry. My completion of 25 years in the industry coincides with 100 years of cinema and it makes me feel all the more special, " Aamir told reporters here today. Many Bollywood A-listers will be seen together in the title track of 'Bombay Talkies'.

The song, which begins with Aamir and ends with Shah Rukh Khan, features Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Madhuri Dixit, Aamir Khan, Vidya Balan, Sridevi, Ranbir Kapoor and many other celebrities. "It was great fun doing the song and being part of it.

It feels great to be alongside such talented people in 'Bombay Talkies'. I think there were many people (celebrities) who were missed out (from this song), " he said. The film will be released on May 3. Meanwhile, Aamir also said that he wished he could have got a chance to work with legendary actor Dilip Kumar.

"Dilipji is my favourite actor, I am a huge fan of him. He has influenced me a lot. I wish I could have got an opportunity to work with him. His influence has been huge on my life. I have learnt a lot seeing his work. He is a top and great actor that we have, " he said. The Hindi films that Aamir likes include 'Mughal-E-Azam', 'Pyaasa' and 'Mother India'.
