Several B-Town folk in the past have found themselves in the middle of roaring controversies

While the glitz and glamour of the industry is difficult to miss, under the shiny patina of Bollywood lies an ugly underbelly of power struggles and lust for money. Over the years, several names from B-Town have been mired in controversies and scams.

With Vindoo Dara Singh's alleged association with cricket betting, the spotlight is back on the grey shades of Bollywood. Here's looking at earlier instances...

Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt: Coming from a filmi khandaan, the industry was shocked when he was first arrested in 1993 in connection with the Mumbai serial blasts. Now behind bars, he is serving out his remaining jail sentence.

Karim Morani

Karim Morani: One of the biggest event organisers in the industry and close friend of Shah Rukh Khan, he found himself embroiled in the 2G controversy that even led to his arrest. Morani is currently out on bail.

Rahul Bhatt

Rahul Bhatt: Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul found himself in the middle of investigations after the 2008 Mumbai blasts, due to his connections with the mastermind David Headley. Rahul had to go through a series of interrogation sessions before he was allowed to walk free.

Sameer Hingorani and Hanif Kadawala: The two partners behind Magnum video were arrested after the 1993 bomb blast for apparently brokering a meeting between Dutt and dreaded don Abu Salem.

Mandakini

Mandakini, Nagma, Mamta Kulkarni and Heena Kausar: Associations with the underworld has not just been limited to actors but the actresses too have had links with the goons.

Mamta Kulkarni

While Mandakini, who was once linked to Dawood Ibrahim, is currently living a normal life in Mumbai, Mamta Kulkarni remains elusive and little is known about her actual whereabouts. Lesser-known actress Heena Kausar is said to have married underworld don Iqbal Mirchi.
