Bollywood actor Vidya Balan, known for her long association with Kolkata and for things Bengali, on Saturday launched Asha Audio Company's latest Rabindrasangeet album `Dukhho Rakhi Sukh O` and on the occasion expressed her irresistible attraction for Kolkata, a city which she said she would introduce from her angle to her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur, the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures.

The Kahaani actor released the album along with music composer Debojyoti Mishra and the singer, Sohini Mukhopadhyay.

`Dukhho Rakhi Sukh O` promises to touch hearts with the mellifluous rendition of Sohini who blended the songs with her own words reflecting on the philosophies of life derived from Tagore's works. Actor Sreela Majumdar brought the transcriptions alive through her voice.

Sohini Mukhopadhyay (Paula) learnt Tagore songs from her childhood.

She grew up in the idyllic setting of Santiniketan under the influence of Tagore's music and philosophy. Apart from singing Rabindrasangeet, she worked with filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar, and had sung many ad jingles for Shantanu Moitra and others.

`I would like to thank Vidya for coming here and supporting me. In my album, I tried to say something through my songs. It is a story of 10 years of my life which I tried to show in the songs, " she said.

Speaking on the occasion Vidya Balan recalled her association with Sohini and Bengal.

`I still remember walking into Pradeep Sarkar's office and there was a person sitting in the office. There I met Paula. We stuck our friendship then and till now we are together. She is a very talented singer. She is such a happy person through all that she has been through. I wish Paula all her luck and I wish she get all success in life.`

Vidya Balan, who had worked in Bengali film and got her commercial success in Bengali culture and Kolkata themed films, paid glowing tribute to the city and its people.

`Kolkata is a second home for me. I love Kolkata anyway. I am very Bengali at heart. Paula is someone who has always helped me a lot to learn Bengali songs` said Vidya Balan.

`I want my husband Siddharth (Roy Kapur) to see Kolkata through my eyes. He has been here before, but we have not come here together. I always keep on threatening him that I will buy a house over here and settle down. But yes, I would love to visit Kolkata again and again, ` she added.

The makers of the album were all praise of the singer and Vidya.

`It is a big day for us. Apart from being a friend, Paula is a budding talent. We are very honoured to have Vidya Balan with us. We are delighted to come out with this soulful album in which the soothing melody of Paula will surely enchant contemporary listeners` said Mahua Lahiri of Asha Audio.

Sohini Mukhopadhyay also thanked actor Rituparna Sengupta who though could not make it to the launch.

"Rituparna Sengupta, who has always been with me, also helped me a lot. I am very thankful to them for making my dream possible` said the singer.

Music composer Debojyoti Mishra was also present at the launch and said when he heard Sohini for the first time he knew she would go a long way.

The album comprises of 10 classic Rabindrasangeet numbers.
