Ranbir Kapoor apparently bought some sparkling baubles for alleged sweetheart Katrina Kaif on the eve of her birthday

Now we know why Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif disappeared into a south Mumbai luxury hotel in the darkness of the night on Monday.

Just hours before ushering in her 30th birthday, RK is believed to have bought his alleged girlfriend a glittering gift from one of the stores that dot the hotel's arcade. No, it wasn't a rock for her dainty fingers but two of them for her ears.

Interestingly, the white Merc that Ranbir picked up Katrina in belongs to the manager of the actress' alleged ex Salman Khan, who also manages the lady's professional commitments now.


Our insider says, `Ranbir and Katrina spent quite some time there. Post having a meal there, they walked about the lounge area hand-in-hand. On spotting a jewellery store, they went in and Ranbir paid for some pretty baubles for his ladylove.`

On Tuesday, the alleged couple attended Aamir Khan's special screening of Anand Gandhi's film but had plans of their own when the rest of the crowd headed for Aamir's after-party. The cosy twosome were spotted dining out at an expensive Chinese eatery in the Bandra Kulra Complex.

`They exited the restaurant at around 12.30 am and headed to RK's place in Katrina's car. Later, the empty car was sent back to her Bandra residence,` adds an onlooker.
