Apparently, underworld members want filmmaker to edit certain 'offensive' lines from his upcoming gangster film

Insiders say members of the underworld want the filmmaker to edit out certain 'offensive' lines from his upcoming gangster film

Joining the recent spate of Bollywood movies depicting Mumbai's underworld is Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming film.

Incidentally, the filmmaker has apparently decided to stay away from its promotional blitzkrieg. According to sources one of his reasons to go off the media's radar could be because of recent threat calls to him and his colleagues at work from unidentified sources, over the past 10 days.

The promo of the sequel to Ramu's 1998 cult hit Satya has apparently rubbed members of the underworld the wrong way. Insiders say lines from the film such as, `Dawood Ibrahim has retired, ` and `Chhota Rajan has become inactive, ` etc have not been well received in those quarters.

A source says, `The callers want Ramu to remove these 'offensive' sentences from his film.` RGV's other releases like Company and D were also on similar lines. In fact, even before releasing D, the director had apparently been contacted by Chhota Rajan who demanded to see the film.

Sandeep Gangatkar, co-producer and CEO of RGV's production banner confirmed our story, `Yes, this has been happening but we don't want to talk about it in the public domain right now. RGV has a lot of friends in the police force and I am sure he is doing the needful.`
