Shahid Kapoor has recommended his good friend Anushka Sharma to Vishal Bhardwaj for the role of Ophelia in their next film based on 'Hamlet'

Looks like Shahid Kapoor is leaving no stone unturned to gear up for his next film with Vishal Bhardwaj based on Shakespeare's tragic drama, Hamlet. After the buzz that the actor was contemplating going bald to suit the character, insiders say that he already has his leading lady in mind.

Sources close to the project say Sasha wants Anushka Sharma to star opposite him in the film and that he has already placed his request to Bhardwaj. A friend of the actor says, `Shahid and Anushka are good friends and their last outing was Badmaash Company. `


Bhardwaj also directed Anushka in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, which however got tepid response at the box office. So if the director does decide to rope in Anushka for the film, one could see her play the character based on Ophelia, the tragic heroine of Hamlet's love story.
