Apparently, Emraan Hashmi is giving a tough time to his director Kunal Deshmukh to start work on their upcoming film

With the number of cases on the rise of actors citing date problems to stall shoots or giving producers a hard time, looks like Emraan Hashmi too has joined the queue.

Insiders say the actor is apparently responsible for delaying Kunal Deshmukh's next film, Shapit. Insiders say he has been giving the director a tough time, even after the makers agreed to cast the heroine of Emraan's choice opposite him.

Says a source, `Initially the film was supposed to go on the floors six months ago. Emraan just couldn't match his dates with the rest of the crew. He kept offering different dates and cited his other projects and commitments.

It kept pushing the film back. Kunal even agreed to wait in order to rope in Humaima Malick, who the actor wanted as his co-star. But a film can't take off without its hero.`

A lot of time was initially also wasted while auditioning for actresses.

A crewmember states, `Pooja Chopra auditioned along with many newbies but we were not able to get back to any of them. Some of them even vented their displeasure at us. But we still went for Emraan's recommendation. Now all the drama about his dates!`

Emraan and Kunal remained unavailable for comment.
