While most of us would love to curl up in a warm bed with a hot cuppa during monsoon mornings, Neetu Chandra prefers to hit the outdoors instead. Just a few days ago, she headed South across the temple town of Madurai and along the hills of Kodaikanal. The actress says there is no greater pleasure than travelling alone.

In good steed: I love horses and I know how to ride them too. This picture was taken before I went to see the famous Meenakshi Temple in Madurai.

Blast from the past: This is the famous Kodai Lake behind me. My driver-cum-guide told me that Dil Deewana from Maine Pyaar Kiya had been shot here.

Divine intervention: The temple is a beautiful place and is adorned with exquisite lighting. They told me it is divine to get blessings from an elephant.

Bearing fruit: While in Kodaikanal, I ditched my strict diet regime. Wish I had done some weightlifting with the enormous jackfruits.
