Telugu film industry pays last respects to Srihari

Several artists from the Telugu film industry, including bigwigs like D. Ramanaidu and Dasari Naryana Rao paid their last respects to popular Telugu actor Srihari, who died Wednesday of a liver ailment

Srihari died in a Mumbai hospital. His body, which was brought here Thursday, has been kept at his residence for the public to pay their respects. Other industry members who paid their respects include names like Brahmaji, V.V Vinayak, K. Raghavendra Rao, and Bellamkonda Suresh.

"The body will be kept for public to pay their respect. The last rites will be performed in the evening at Srihari's farmhouse in Bachupally," C. Kalyan, president, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, told IANS.

Srihari, who started his career as a stunt master went on to play to villain and comedian roles before bagging plum lead roles and strong character-based roles. He was introduced as a lead hero in 1999 Telugu action-drama 'Police'.

In a career spanning over two decades, he starred in 98 films. Some of his best films include 'Dhee', 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana', 'Magadheera' and 'Krishna'.

His last notable performance was from recently released Ram Charan Teja-starrer Telugu action-drama 'Thoofan'.
