The legendary Prithviraj Kapoor has been the reigning king of Bollywood in his times. And, now a theatre, Prithvi, named after him keeps the legend and art form alive in Mumbai. On a recent theatre festival, Actor Ranbir Kapoor shared his memories spent with his great grandfather.

Ranbir says that as school going children their great grandfather used to invite him and his sister to watch 'plays' every Friday which they never understood but despised. They used to attend shows for Irrish coffee which was the only alcohol they as kids could have. But now when they have grown up they have started appreciating theatre. They are proud what Prithvi has done for theatre in like the Broadway.

Expressing his views about theatre Ranbir says that theatre is more difficult than cinema, it is the real art form which gives you a spiritual kick when you perform live for 3 hours on stage in front of the audience.

`I did get a chance to work in theatre for a play titled 'Shatranj ke Mohre' which was being directed by Ramesh Sippy. But amidst the rehearsals, film Saawariya came my way and I left theatre,` discloses Ranbir adding `I wish I don't turn greedy and one day return to theatre to do a play.
