Abhishek Bachchan and Hollywood star Sharon Stone hosted a charity auction recently to raise funds for AIDS awareness.

Bachchan and Stone moderated the auction encouraging people to donate generously.

Says a source, `They managed to sell two paintings, one designer outfit from the fashion show which was held, and a cricket bat from the World Cup, signed by the Indian cricket team. Since the amount was for charity they wanted more and more people to participate and were requesting guests to donate. They managed to collect $4,000.`

Before the auction Abhishek and Aishwarya bonded with Stone and designer Kenneth Cole. Adds the source, `Abhishek and Sharon had a long chat and she told him about her warm welcome in India.

She told him that she was happy to see every single person present at the event hugging her. She seemed pretty on the ball as far as Bollywood was concerned, and that came as a pleasant surprise to Abhishek and Aishwarya.`
