Director Mohit Suri is wary about the reason why the title of his forthcoming movie "Blue Film" was changed to "Kalyug".

One story doing the rounds is that Suri opted for a title change as the film marks his sister Smiley's launch and he and his parents didn't want her to begin on a controversial note.

"That's not true. On the contrary, Smiley has been arguing with me over the change, since she liked the previous title and felt it made a better impact. It definitely does not have anything to do with the fact that 'Kalyug' will mark her acting debut," Suri maintained.

According to him, the title has been changed for a variety of reasons.

The original title "would have had problems with the censors who would have seen it from a prejudiced point of view", said Suri. "I was also told that there would be hurdles vis-à-vis its satellite telecast.

"Moreover, (producer) Vishesh Films has acquired a reputation for making sensuous films so the title would directly lead people to believe that it is a sex-based film, which it is not. Moreover, the film would be shunned by the family audiences," Suri explained.
