Sunil 'Gutthi' Grover's controversial exit from Comedy Nights With Kapil has reached a flashpoint.

In what looks like an overnight decision the Channel Colors has decided to replace Sunil Grover with another comic actor Gaurav Gera. Gaurav's drag act starts this Sunday when Saif Ali Khan appears on the popular show.

But wait Guarav won't play Gutthi. He will play another female character named Dulari.

Interestingly Gaurav had played a woman on another show Mrs Pammi Pyarelal on Colors which bombed.

Shockingly Grover was planning a comedy show with Gaurav Gera when Gera dropped this bomb on Grover.


A well-informed source says, `Sunil Grover and Gaurav Gera are close friends.They have partnered in comic gigs before. So when Grover exited from Comedy Nights With Kapil he discussed a possible comic collaboration with Gaurav Gera. The next thing he knew , Sunil got a call from Gaurav informing Grover that Gaurav was entering Kapil's show in drag.`

A bit of a stab-in-the-back situation, no?

Sunil Grover disagrees, `If it wasn's Gaurav it would've been someone else. The show had to go on.And I'm glad a friend is doing it.I'm looking forward to seeing what Gaurav does.`
