The buzz doing the rounds in the trade is that Ranbir Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra might come together in Karan Johar's next.

The producer-director was earlier working on a movie based on the Indo-Pak Partition, which he is not keen on pursuing anymore. So the focus of attention has shifted to a different project.

While talking to us last week, Karan had said, `I am not doing the Partition love story at the moment. I am going to start work on another film, which I will direct. At the moment, I am writing a script for it and once things get finalise I will announce it.`

Also in the first episode of Koffee with Karan, Salman Khan inadvertently revealed that Ranbir might be starring in KJo's next.

According to a source close to him, `Karan is still writing the script for his next and most probably he has signed Ranbir for the same project. KJo has been scouting for a new face opposite the Kapoor lad and he is seriously considering Parineeti for the same.`

Karan and Parineeti remained unavailable for comment.
