Twitter temptress Poonam Pandey turned 23 on Tuesday with her fans going berserk with greetings and wishes.

Poonam received close to 2,000 text messages and nearly 500 calls wishing her all the best.

`I didn't expect anyone to even remember it was my birthday. I kept it very quiet. I am a little tired of all the attention. I am also exhausted by all the partying with friends,` confesses the hottie adding that at heart she's just a Mama's Girl.

`This birthday I was just with my parents, that's all. There is a very good reason why I chose to be away from all the shor-sharaaba this birthday. It was my mom's wish that I spend the day with her and Dad. She told me, 'Beta, baaqi din toh kaam aur doston ke saath guzaarti ho. Aaj ka din mujhe dedo.' I couldn't say no. I didn't want to say no!`

Mama's Girl who contrary to her hot image likes to laze around at home in a simple salwaar-kameez, spent her birthday cuddling up to her parents.

`I did pooja with my mom in the morning. Then I went out for lunch with them.I realized how little time I get to spend with my family. My work takes me away all day. When I return home it is late at night. They are asleep.I've forbidden them from staying awake for me.Sometimes I just want time to put my head in my mom's lap.`

Being with her parents is what Poonam likes doing the most.

`That's what I did on my birthday. That's why my birthday was so special,` sighs the birthday girl.

Poonam also signed a new film and moved into her large sprawling office in Andheri from where the sexy model-actress-entrepreneur would aspire to bring her dreams to further fruition.


The film, one hears, is to be directed by Sameer Sharma whose debut last year in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana garnered encouraging reports and also did good things to Huma Qureshi's career.

When asked about the project Poonam says, `I am not at liberty to talk about it yet. I think the producers want to make a big announcement. But I can tell you, it's a very interesting script with a very good role for me.After my debut in Nasha I was flooded with offers. To be honest, some of these scripts were so boring I fell asleep during narration.I wanted to make sure my second film took my movie career ahead.`

As for the new swanky office that Poonam has gifted herself she proudly explains, `I needed a place where I could meet producers, event managers and my professional contacts.I couldn't invite them home and I felt uncomfortable sitting in their offices. Now I feel at home even when I am at work.`
