As filmmaker-producer Karan Johar turned 42 today, his friends from the Hindi Film industry sent across their heartfelt wishes on his birthday on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

Johar, who gave two back to back hits this year with 'Hasee Toh Phasee' and '2 States', is all set to make his acting debut in Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' in 2014. The 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' helmer recently finished his fourth season of the chat show 'Koffee with Karan'. His good friend and director Farah Khan tweeted, "Happy birthday Karan Johar this year have lots of what I always wish for you every year."

Actress Alia Bhatt, who made her debut in Bollywood with Johar's 'Student of the Year', tweeted, "Happy birthday to my daddy!!! Love you soo soo much Karan Johar." Another producer friend Ritesh Sidhwani wrote, "Karan Johar happy birthday my friend heard u had a killer night.. Speak soon luv." Johar had an 'epic party' last night at his residence here on the eve of his birthday.

Actress Neha Dhupia tweeted, "Happy birthday Karan Johar. you gem, I missed an epic party last night but here's to you and year full of reasons to celebrate and party hard! Parineeti Chopra, who worked in Johar production 'Hasee Toh Phasee', said, "Happy happy happy b'day Karan Johar! Wish you all the happiness."
