Dia Mirza, who was last seen in Parineeta, will play a bubbly, sweet and Oxford-educated character named Ria in Mukherji's film Bidhaatar Lekha.

Debutant director Raja Mukherji's describes it as a romantic thriller. The film's title implies that human destiny is written by God and cannot be changed.

When contacted, Dia confirmed that she was doing the film. "Yes, I have been approached, but am yet to start shooting."

Will she have to learn Bengali for the film? "My mother is Bengali, so I don't think it should be much of a problem." Raja was last seen as the producer for Sahara One's Prratima, with his wife Jyoti playing the lead role.
