Zoya Akhtar has returned home with a major chunk of her upcoming film, Dil Dhadakne Do, in the cans. But Mirror has learnt that the film which was shot on board a cruise liner got off to a false start, reports Times of India.

The ship with Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra and Shefali Shah on board was supposed to set sail from Barcelona on May 18 and for the next six weeks, sail through Spain, Italy, France and Tunisia, filming on the way, before dropping anchor in Turkey for another three week shoot.

But on the scheduled day, following a technical snag, the ship not only failed to sail, but remained stationary on the shore for the next seven days.

A source from the unit told Mirror, "The cast and the crew were dismayed, thinking the shoot would be called off as there was a problem in the engine. But in just a few hours, Zoya revised her flow chart and continued to shoot on the stationary ship. The scenes which required the ship to be in motion were set aside. Thankfully, the ship started on the eighth day, and everyone heaved a sigh of relief."

When contacted, Zoya confirmed the news, saying, "Yes, the ship failed to start but we managed to get some work done even while it stayed put. We are film people, we know what adjustments to make and how."
