Actress Avika Gor, who started acting at the age of 11, is a full-time actress in Tollywood today.
The 17-year-old is currently essaying the role of a mature bahu in the show Sasural Simar Ka. With the recent controversy surrounding actress Shweta Basu Prasad (who won a National Award as a child artiste for Makdee) being arrested for prostitution, we asked Avika about the pressures to maintain a successful career way beyond one's years.
She says, "Everyone has their agenda for coming to the film industry. I came here as it's my hobby and not for financial reasons. I've always wanted a career that gives me job satisfaction. My family is not dependent on my income."
She adds, "If I work only for money, then I will lose interest in my job and my focus will only be money. So, I try to stay away from the monetary angle as much as I can. I am only 17 and at this age, no one should have to stress about money."
