Yashpal Sharma, known for movies like "GangaaJal", "Lagaan" and "Ab Tak Chhappan", says he was disappointed when he didn't get any awards for the films.

"I was very disappointed when I didn't get any awards for 'GangaaJal', 'Lagaan', 'Apharan' and 'Ab Tak Chhapan'," he said in a statement.

Recently, the actor bagged the trophy for the Sabse Achi Dosti category at Zee Rishtey Awards for his role as Bhagwan Das in his TV show "Neeli Chhatri Waale". He is delighted.

"It will always remain close to my heart as it's my first award so far," he added.

His portrayal of the hassled common man helped him clinch an award at the ceremony along with his co-star Himanshu Soni, who plays Lord Shivaye in the show.
