Actor Karan Mehra who was last seen in films like 'Ragini MMS 2' (2014) and 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' (2013), had always dreamed of going to the US and studying there.

The actor, however, couldn't do so earlier, but his latest film, 'Amen', which has won several awards in film festivals, has helped him achieve his dream. The actor's film, in which he plays a gay character, has been selected at Ohio University as a part of the syllabus and the actor has been invited as a guest lecturer to the university to speak about the film and his experience.

Karan says, "Awards and rewards are part of every good film, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity where I can give back to the society. I am looking forward to learning something new at Ohio University." Ask him about why would he do a gay film being a part of Bollywood and Karan says, "Our industry is an expression of the society and I consider this film as a love story."

Amen happens to join films like Monsoon Wedding and Lagaan in the list of Indian films being used in the syllabus abroad, but what's unique about this film is that it takes on the topics of child molestation, LGBT, etc. Mehra is seen playing the lead in Amen, which is inspired by activist Harish Iyer's true story who was also seen recently in Satyamev Jayate. Besides Amen, Karan also has the romcom Badmashiyaan releasing this month and another two films lined up for later this year.
