Teneke De Freitas

Teneke was born and grew up in Westmoorings, located on the north of the island. The island is known as the home of the cricket legend Brian Lara, it is the nesting place of over 150 species of birds, has breathtaking beaches and hosts an annual two day and night street party.

Teneke qualified as a Certified Accountant whilst working as a model. She has worked for four years in the tax department of one the biggest international accounting firms, it is her ambition to pursue a Masters degree in International Taxation Law. Her proudest moment was when at the age of 11 she was selected to represent her country in swimming, she also enjoys a fusion of calypso, African and pop mixed rhythms and vintage Jamaican dancehall music. Sporting interests are: volleyball, squash and all types of dance. Favourite food is the East Indian especially roti which is similar to a burrito – but softer filled with chickpeas, beef, chicken, mango and flavoured with curry and other spices.

Personal motto is “If you conceive it and you believe it; then you can achieve it”.
