I am currently working on a special project geared for the children of the world, especially kindergarten and early elementary school age children. This project encompasses creating a coloring book that will illustrate the need to protect our environment now, by using simple facts and easy-to-understand terms about protecting and preserving Mother Earth. Since becoming Miss Earth U.S.A. I have been able to visit several schools throughout the United States, reading to the students of Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms sharing why they should protect Mother Earth. I have discovered that this is very beneficial for them to learn at the early age about protecting and preserving Mother Earth so that they may have an Earth to grow up on, to cherish and protect and to pass on to future generations. I believe that creating a coloring book will only enhance their knowledge and awareness in a fun and enjoyable way.
What makes you proud of your country:
Having been born and raised in the United States of America, the country that I am honored and humbled to represent, makes me proud. I am proud on the strength and resilience that all 50 states and the District of Columbia possess, the different cultures represented within them, the way of life of each individual state and the diversity that lies within them. My country is truly a melting pot of uniqueness and character. As Miss Earth, I would be thrilled to represent not only all of the fore-mentioned but the freedom that comes with that. I also look forward to the opportunity to bring education, awareness, focus and a voice to the every growing need of protecting our environment. I look forward to putting a face to the cause and provide necessary and much needed time and energy by enlighten not only my country but all countries of the world the need to invest in Mother Earth through technology, incentives and focus. As the native American saying goes: We do not inherit our planet from our ancestors, we borrow it from future generations, this will be the message I will convey.
