Avoid Drinking Alcohol after Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine shot, advises Russian Officials!
Coronavirus has hit the world with its horrific effects that unfortunately resulted in the deaths of millions of people worldwide along with a world-wide lockdown. Though the situation has relieved a bit, the virus continues making our lives hell and people are eagerly waiting for the COVID-19 vaccine to enter the markets. But would a vaccine will make everything fine and normal as it was before?

You can decide once you will read ahead. As per the reports of Russain news agency TASS, Russian officials have warned the citizens to not to consume alcohol for around 42 days after getting vaccinated by the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine. And in a country like Russia, which the World Health Organisation has declared as the fourth-largest consumer of alcohol per person in the world, this vaccine can be a trouble. The average Russian consumes 15.1 litres of alcohol a year.

Well, this warning came with the guidelines issued by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova where he urged the citizens to take necessary precautions until the vaccine gets safely active in the body. He said, "Russians will have to refrain from visiting crowded places, wear face masks, use sanitizers, minimize contacts and refrain from drinking alcohol or taking immunosuppressant drugs."

Anna Popova, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Russia's consumer safety watchdog, also recommended avoiding alcohol and stated, "It's a strain on the body. If we want to stay healthy and have a strong immune response, don't drink alcohol."

The vaccine has been legally authorised to put in effect from August and over 100,000 high-risk people till now have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus, as per the Health Minister Mikhail Murashko who revealed this earlier this week during a presentation to the United Nations about Sputnik V. The government has also highlighted Teachers and Doctors to get vaccinated first as they are more vulnerable to get the disease.

Not only in Russia, but the vaccine has also been in effect in India, in Kanpur's Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Medical College after the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) gave approval to Dr Reddy's Laboratories. Well, the Sputnik V vaccine can be a bit troubling for all the alcohol lovers but the vaccine is worth taking this trouble for as it can free us from the deadly coronavirus.
