Today is 125 birth anniversary of first Prime Minster of India Jawahar Lal Nehru.Nehru`s tenure began with a conflict with Pakistan over the disputed Kashmir region. A United Nations-mediated ceasefire was negotiated but the region remains volatile to this day. Towards the end of his time in office there was a war with China over a disputed border in which Indian troops were badly beaten. Nehru died on May 27, 1964. -

Karti Questions 'High-Command Culture'
The Congress `high command` came in for fresh criticism with senior leader P Chidambaram`s son Karti questioning Delhi micro-managing state units. Congress MP Hanumantha Rao has rubbished Karti Chidambaram for his outburst against the party leadership, saying his father too was part of the high command that he has slammed.
