Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about your home town/city, and family.
I was born in Luquillo Puerto Rico on August 10th 1984. My mother Marcela is originally from Panama and my father Victor Puerto Rican. My relationship with my parents has always been excellent and very open. I have one brother, Santos who is 27 years old, with whom I keep a tight bond of love and trust.

What Jobs have you done? What was the most interesting/bizarre?
I worked as a waitress, and the first few times I tried to serve I could never get the orders right. I thought that I would be fired for sure when I started going crazy with only 3 tables! But with practice I was able to get more comfortable and it was interesting to meet so many different people and have them all feel comfortable with a smile. I was a marketing student in high school and I worked on the school newspaper as fashion editor. I was also president of the geography club, which promotes the importance of recycling and has ties with the Environmental Commission for the Conservation of trees.

What are your career ambitions, how do you plan to realise them?
Currently I am enrolled at the communications Department of Sagrado Corazon University in Santurce Puerto Rico, majoring in advertising. I am in my second year and plan to continue until I obtain my master’s degree, which will give me the tools to start my own advertising and public relations agency.

What is the proudest moment of your life? (Not including winning your National Title)
My high school graduation, which was the beginning of a new stage in my life, was one of my proudest moments. But more than the actual graduation I felt proudest of the things I learned from my teachers and fellow students and the things they were able to learn from me.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
When I lived in Italy I was travelling by train and accidentally gave the person collecting tickets an expired one not knowing that the real ticket was in my other pocket. They gave me a fine and embarrassed my in front of everyone on the train.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
Professionally my life has changed because of the responsibility of being Miss Puerto Rico and becoming a spokesperson for my Country. But in my personal life I am still the same person with my feet flat on the ground.

Tell us about an interesting event you have attended, or a person that you have met.
I stepped into the modelling world at the age of twelve. Since then I have had the opportunity to participate in different events such as the IMTA competition held annually in New York. During a period of three months I was able to model in Milan, Italy and participate in different events for beauty companies, editorials and runways. I have participated in the San Juan fashion week and have been in many fashion editorials for IMAGEN magazine. I have also been a spokesperson for different advertising campaigns.

What would you like to do, if you became Miss World 2004?
It would be an honour to bring the Miss World crown back to Puerto Rico for a second time. But I would use the title to become an example to young women everywhere and help those who need it the most always maintaining the idea of "Beauty with a Purpose".

If you had a personal motto what would it be?
"Limits exist only in the souls of those who do not dream"

Give details of any charitable work undertaken?
When I am not studying, I’m involved in working for the Wilnelia Merced Forsyth Foundation, which works with children with emotional, physical and mental limitations. My work as a part of this organisation has allowed me to help children with their problems by applying the phrase: "Beauty with a Purpose" I try to create a better quality of life for them by acting as role model and giving them the courage to go on with an optimistic view and reach their goals and dreams for the future.
