Tatyana Sidorchuk

Tatyana was born in the town of Perm and is currently a third year student of History and Politics at Perm University. She has been researching work about the history of the Ural region and the founding of Perm, attended courses in politics and speaking and has made some publications. Her future ambition is to become a TV political observer. Tatyana is also interested in theatre and has played a role in a play by ‘Chekhov’, sung in a musical group and written poems. She also enjoys keeping fit, and dancing, especially the Russian national dances. Her motto in life is "To try hard to have a harmonious personality, be responsible, kind and resolute".


Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about your home town/city, and family.
I have spent my life in Perm’town, which is situated in Ural Mountains region. There is a big river Cama not far from my town. My family is big. I have an elder sister, brother and two nephews.

What Jobs have you done? What was the most interesting/bizarre?
For 3 years I have been writing research work about history of Ural region and founding Perm’. I also have some publications.

What are your career ambitions, how do you plan to realise them?
After University I would like to work on TV and have a career as a political observer and become well-known person.

What is the proudest moment of your life? (Not including winning your National Title)
My proudest moment was when my mother was awarded a deserved teacher of Russia. I am also very proud of our sportsman’s victories in the Olympic Games.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
I persuaded my friends to jump with a parachute. Eventually they all jumped except me. I was too scared.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
I became a popular and recognisable person in my native town and in my country. When I returned to Perm’, I was met by our region governor, my family, my friends and a lot of people.

Tell us about an interesting event you have attended, or a person that you have met.
I participated in a TV programme on the main TV channel. It was a talk show with interactive voting for and against beauty contests. My speech was convincing and most TV viewers voted for beauty contests, including people from government and regional governors who take part in this program.

What would you like to do, if you became Miss World 2004?
I will be proud and very responsible. I would like to create a foundation to support talented children.

If you had a personal motto what would it be?
My motto is "If you don’t risk anything, you risk everything"

Give details of any charitable work undertaken?
I take part together with the all contestant of "Beauty of 2004" in the charitable auction. And then we visited the orphanage where we did performance for children.
