Julena was born in Sarajevo, but spent most her teenage years in Canada, she is now a grade twelve high school student, a member of the Serbian folklore ensemble and Serbian Theatre Company. Since the age of 15 she has had many part time jobs in fast food restaurants, movie theatres, clothing stores and church organisations organising charity events for children all over the world. Her hobbies are: dancing, jazz ballet, acting, fitness, camping, volleyball, basketball and tennis. She is a modern, ambitious girl well aware of her capabilities and goals, it is her ambition to study Child Psychology. Jelena’s motto would be "There is no happiness without sadness, and when we feel the worst, we learn to appreciate the best".


Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about your home town/city, and family.
Born in Sarajevo on August 17, 1987. Grew up in a strong Serbian family that dedicated a lot of love and support

What Jobs have you done? What was the most interesting/bizarre?
Part time jobs at 15: fast food restaurants, movie theatre, clothing stores, church organizations.

What are your career ambitions, how do you plan to realise them?
To complete University, be a successful psychologist, as well as a respectful host in the media community.

What is the proudest moment of your life? (Not including winning your National Title)
The courage to become independent at 17, to do something on my own that is to participate at the Miss Serbia & Montenegro 2004 pageant.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
Many doors have opened, bigger opportunity to be self realised, finding inner peace. Stayed alone away from home. I am glad to be back in my homeland.

Tell us about an interesting event you have attended, or a person that you have met.
Many interesting events, although the most remarkable one is the first time I was promoted as the official Miss SCG 2004 at a cocktail in my honour.

What would you like to do, if you became Miss World 2004?
If received the title of Miss World, I would help my country show its best qualities, and help other countries in need to maintain a healthy standard of living.

If you had a personal motto what would it be?
There is no happiness without sadness, and when the worst feel, we learn to appreciate the best.

Give details of any charitable work undertaken?
Participated in many charitable organizations:
- Raising money for underprivileged children who needed surgeries
- Raising money for the monastery Hilandar
- Raising money for children in Kosovo
- Organised and prepared gifts and baskets for children all around the world.
