Very few know that the actor has a special interest in learning about the journeys of various personalities. In fact, the actor's past work also reflects the same. The highly critically acclaimed film 'Shahid' was based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi who was assassinated in 2010 in Mumbai.
Rajkumar's performance in the film was widely appreciated which even lead to him winning the National Award as best actor. This also marks on Rajkumar being one of the youngest actors to bag the title.
However, this doesn't end here, Rajkumar's forthcoming film titled Aligarh is also based on the real life story of a professor of Aligarh University who falls in love with a rickshaw puller.
This tells us that how this young actor is intrigued by the journey of various people which he also showcases through work. Rajkumar who is an outsider has made it big in the industry purely on his own merit.
His recent films, Citylights and Queen (National Award - Best Film) garnered immense appreciation from across quarters.
Going forward, the actor will be seen in Mohit Suri's next, Humaari Adhuri Kahaani with Vidya Balan followed by, Hansal Mehta's Aligarh alongside Manoj Bajpai.
Rajkumar Rao confirms the news and adds, "I have always been intrigued by reading and watching biographies of various personalities. Shahid's story was one of them. I find it quite interesting when a person's life history is told to you with such minute detailing. It's the only medium which gets you as close to reality."
