If rumours mills are to be believed, Deepika Padukone had a chat with Kangna Ranaut over the weekend to settle what seemed to be a brewing 'cold war' between them.
Kangs, who found many fans in the industry post her performance in the National Award-winning film Queen, wasn't really flattered when Deepika dedicated an award to her earlier this year. "I hope, someday, she would tell me in person what she feels about my work. I would appreciate that a lot more," the Queen actress had been quoted as saying. In an interview a few days ago, she reiterated that she did not receive any congratulatory call from Dippy while many others including Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman Khan conveyed their best wishes to her.
Last month, Kangna had taken a dig at her contemporary by slamming her 'My Choice' women empowerment video as 'sexist'.
A source says, "So, two days ago, Deepika decided to call Kangna and congratulate her. She also asked her about the controversial media reports about the two of them and clarified her stand. She is keen to maintain cordial relation with Kangna."
Kangna is said to be happy about Dippy's gesture, says another source adding: "She explained to Deepika how she has not been accepting awards, but was glad to hear words of appreciation from her and also respected her efforts to clear all misunderstandings between them."
The two actresses remained unavailable for comment.
