To be friends or not to be? That's a common dilemma that former lovers face post their break-up. And truth be told, relationships rarely end on a happy note. But there are some who manage to stay on good terms with their ex-partners and hardly have any qualms about extending their support and compliments for their professional as well as personal endeavours.
A case in point is Aditi Rao Hydari. The actress, who was married to actor Satyadeep Misra at the age of 21 only to separate later, recently acknowledged her ex's work in Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film, Bombay Velvet. She posted on Twitter: `I love being told a story...BombayVelvet what an experience!JOY! @anuragkashyap72 @AnushkaSharma @satyadeepmisra #RanbirKapoor @karanjohar (sic)`. To this Satyadeep replied `Yeah!!! The spl ppl approve (claps) Shukriya :-* (sic)`.
Again on Tuesday, Aditi shared a picture of his look in the film and sealed the message with a 'heart' emoticon.

Man for all seasons
Salman Khan is known to be friends with most of his exes, be it Sangeeta Bijlani, Somy Ali or Katrina Kaif. Early into his career in the '90s, the superstar dated Sangeeta, a beauty pageant winner-turned-actress, after his sister introduced them. They were even set to get married, but out of the blue, she wed cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin. Post her divorce with the ex India captain, she has been spotted with Salman at many of his family functions and outings. He is also said to have helped through her legal separation.
Salman Khan continues to be cordial with most of his exes, including Katrina Kaif, Sangeeta Bijlani and Somy Ali
After Sangeeta, Salman got involved with Somy Ali, who had left Pakistan to meet the actor after watching his Maine Pyar Kiya (1989). Their rocky relationship could not last long allegedly due to his aggressive behaviour. Somy, however, has always denied about any abuse in their eight-year relationship. When they met two years ago, there were rumours about the former lovers trying to rekindle their affair, but the buzz died down as soon as it had spread. Salman, though, has been supporting Somy's NGO which works for victims of abuse and discrimination.
The star has launched the careers of several actresses, with whom he was apparently romantically involved too. This list includes Katrina Kaif, who established a foothold in the industry with Sallu's help. Even after they chose to part ways after three years of togetherness, they are cordial with each other. He did not mind working with her in 'Ek Tha Tiger' (2012) and reportedly sorted out her foreigner make-up artist's license issue as well last year. Kat was also present for Salman's sister Arpita's wedding last year.
Still good friends
Ranveer Singh made his debut opposite Anushka Sharma in 'Band Baaja Baaraat' (2010) and given their crackling on-screen chemistry, there was a strong buzz about the reel couple dating in real life too.
Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma have no qualms working with each other even after their split. The duo has even locked lips in 'Dil Dhadakne Do'
Ranveer has often spoke about the actress-producer fondly and recently showered praises for her performance in their upcoming multi-starrer, 'Dil Dhadakne Do'. The actor was even present at the special screening of her maiden production venture, 'NH10' while Anushka spoke in his defence during the AIB controversy.
Together in spirit
Romance blossomed between Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap on the sets of the latter's directorial, 'Dev D'. They decided to get hitched after dating each other for a few months. However, their marriage was short-lived, lasting for just about three years. Apparently, they have filed for divorce.
Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap split after three years of marriage, but they constantly acknowledge each other's work
But that has, in no way, stopped them from backing each other. Kalki not only goes to watch Anurag's films, but also goes public with appreciation for his work. Anurag too makes sure that he is there to encourage her whenever her movies are up for release. They often speak about each other's work on social networking sites.
You're an exception
Bipasha Basu, who has always been vocal about her relationships, dated her 'Raaz' (2002) co-star Dino Morea for five years. After breaking up with him in 2003, she got into a relationship with John Abraham.

However, Bips and Dino have always maintained that they share a great bond and will be there for each other during good and bad times. She is not friends with any of her ex-flames except Dino and had unveiled his fitness brand two years ago. On his part, the actor goes to all her parties, film screenings and celebrates special occasions with her.
