In a most bizarre instance of bureaucractic bungling, lyricist Javed Akhtar and composer Vishal-Shekhar's credits for the song Dilli Mein Dhamaal to which Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee danced on Sunday night at the Commonwealth Games, were obliterated.

According to composer Vishal, Javed Akhtar is very hurt and and offended. "They were using it in every commercial to promote the event. The other songs composed for the event were also nice. But ours was the only sing-along tune. When we were asked to compose we were delighted.

To be very honest, after composing Dilli Mein Dhamaal we weren't kept in the loop. We were told nothing about how the song was going to be performed. We found out Saif and Rani had danced to our song only when people started calling us yesterday.

It's pretty much a bureaucratic screw-up. I don't know how it happened. Considering there were only 11 minutes for our team from Bollywood, it's hard to believe they could screw up...Javed Saab and we had put our heart and soul in the track. It really hurts ..."

Vishal is hurting big-time. "It just leaves such a bitter taste in the mouth especially since it involves someone as senior as Javed Saab. And this was our first song with him, and therefore a big event for us. I've tried to find out who screwed up. The organizers Wizcraft are passing the buck. I'm told it's the PR department of the government to blame."

Javed Akhtar Reacts: "Yes I heard about my song going uncredited at the Commonwealth games. It's very unfortunate. Vishal-Shekhar and I had worked really hard on the song. And I believe Saif and Rani danced to the Bhangra beat. Chalo, I hope it made some people happy."
