The cyber cell on Tuesday approached its legal team at the Thane police headquarters and submitted details of the FIR and sections applied. "We have sought help from our legal team on the sections applied and whether it will be okay to take further action," said an officer.
"We have sought clarification regarding the case as this is a first-of-its-kind before us and also the website mentioned in the complaint belongs to Canada," said the officer.
Investigators fear that if any step is taken in a hurry, people may file several cases against porn websites being operated from outside India. "We will take all steps after legal advice," added the officer.
Last Friday, the Ramnagar police in Dombivli filed an FIR against Leone and others who had uploaded her video on her website after an activist filed a complaint.
